A view over the ocean

This was taken a few years ago.
It was taken in Aveiro the day I bought my first Digicam. It was a Minolta DiMAGE F100.

Gigapixel photo

Just came across this site about the "Gigapxl Project"

From the website:

Defining the upper limits of large-format photography, digital scanning and image processing, custom-built Gigapxl™ cameras capture images with unprecedented resolution.

It would take a video wall of 10,000 television screens or 600 prints from a professional digital SLR camera to capture as much information as that contained in a single Gigapxl™ exposure.
(...)
A longer term goal is to create for future generations a world-wide archive of vanishing cultural and archaeological sites.

The photos are exposed in a 9" x 18" film latter digitally scanned.
There are no plans commercially sell the gigapxl camera

You can reach the site here or view more samples of the photos here

Boundaries of Photo journalism?

The website Ground Zero Fargo claims to be a photo journalism website reporting on "abortion holocaust". They take pictures of an abortion clinic they call a "place where innocent people are killed en masse by determined terrorists", they're staff and they're clients.

Is this photo journalism or fanaticism and invasion of privacy disguised as photo journalism ?

The site can be found here

Stock Photography

A new stock photography website is about to launch (summer) and it offers a 50% commission to photographers.

The name of the site is Our Stock Works and you can find it here

Another stork

Can't resist posting another stork viewed from the middle of the road. Didn't had much time as cars were passing all the time.

I miss my vacation

I miss some of the few good things in life that's still free. Sun, beach and sand.
It's time to go back to studies.

This is only a memory now

14 April

I wish I could afford a DSLR like Nikon d50 or Canon 350D. I know they are not the best choice, but in no way I could break even investing in a "real" pro DSLR with amateur work.
It's time to start saving for a cheap one :)

All this pictures were taken with a Fujifilm s5500
